For those of you that need to work with Windows applications that can serve as a DDE Server, like all MS Office applications and for instance MetaTrader, we created the DDE Plug-in.
Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) is a technology for communication between multiple applications under Microsoft Windows or OS/2. More information can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamic_Data_Exchange.
With the DDE Plug-in you can get, put and listen for events on the DDE Server.
Not only will it work with a local running server it will also work with a DDE Server running on the same machine as your Servoy Application Server.
When you work locally you need to be on the same platform as the DDE Server, MS Windows.
When you work remoty you can work on any platform supported by Java and Servoy.
The DDE Plug-in will not (yet) work with MS Windows Vista.
You can download the DDE Plug-in via our Update Manager.
The Update Manager Installer can be found at http://www.it2be.com/support/ in the download section.

NETRONIC and IT2BE are glad to announce the future availability of the IT2BE Gantt Bean for Servoy, based on the VARCHART JGantt bean developed, sold and supported by NETRONIC.
During the coming months IT2BE will make any effort together with NETRONIC, to make the Gantt Bean available for the Servoy platform. The development of the Bean will be in stages, following the module scheme of VARCHART JGantt, from basic display and printing to data editing and finally to the histogram.
Gantt charts allow to display the chronology of tasks and to plan the capacity of resources. Due to their graphical visualization, interrelations and deviations become obvious at a glance.
NETRONIC
After investigating the different options of how we can serve the Servoy market with our VARCHART JGantt bean we found IT2BE willing to work with us for this project.
We are confident that, following this path, we serve the Servoy market in the best possible way, and are very happy with this cooperation.
IT2BE
Almost two years after the introduction of the Calendar Bean it became apparent that an increasing number of companies were looking for extended functionality in the form of Gantt charting.
The first step in that direction was the integration of a Gantt type of view in the Calendar Bean. The next step is a true Gantt Bean.
We are very proud that we have come to an agreement with NETRONIC to use their VARCHART JGantt bean as the 'engine' of the 'IT2BE Gantt Bean'.
About NETRONIC
For more than 30 years NETRONIC Software GmbH has provided diagram software that is used in planning and control environments. Our software products enable end users and developers to plan and graphically display data of operating and working resources, disposition and organization, order processing and production (PPS, ERP, SCM, CRM), as well as of workflow and project management. The software generates different types of diagrams.www.netronic.com

Today we released new versions of the Data Plug-in, FTP Plug-in and HTMLeditor Plug-in.
The Data Plug-in has a brand new method included to create an Excel sheet with formatted cells.
Among the new properties included in our proprietary FormattedDataSet are: cell font, border and background

Today we uploaded an upgrade to version 2.0 of the Calendar bean.
Version 2.0 of the Calendar bean is focussed on an additional View. The Gantt View.
Instead of a 'vertical' view the Gantt view is horizontal and centered around showing categorized events instead of timed events. An example of the Calendar bean with Gantt View is shown below:
It is important to note that the upgraded Calendar bean is based upon MiG 6 libraries. The upgrade from previous versions of the MiG libraries is a paid upgrade. See
www.migcalendar.com for more details about the libraries
You can find the complete history of the Calendar bean in our
Calendar bean forum topic

After almost 3 months of hard work we are finally able to present the integrated suite of Plug-ins and Beans.
But, you might ask yourself
'so, what is in it for me'.
Well, you will see the following in the new installer:
- The Installer is now really light-weight. You only download the Update Manager and the rest is up to you.
- The Update Manager will keep you up to date of new versions of the Plug-ins and Beans.
- Downloading documents and sample solutions is now optional instead of mandatory.
- The Update Manager will give you platform information and bring you to additional information
While integrating the Plug-in and Beans we prepared the following:
- Final release of the LDAPclient Plug-in.
- Updated version of the Data Plug-in.
- Updated version of the Office Plug-in.
- Cosmetic improvements for all Plug-ins and Beans (work in progress).
- Revision of many sample solutions.
- New, improved, licensing system.
With the new installer we dropped support for Java 1.4. When you don't want or can't use Java 1.5 you should not update
It is not possible to use the old and new Plug-ins and Beans together.
To download the new installer you should navigate to the
download section.
Please read the instructions carefully to overcome too many surprises.
We also started writing a new 'Developer Manual'. This will help you through the installation, update or upgrade process. You can download it in our
download section as well.

Gorinchem, The Netherlands - IT2BE announced today that it has agreed to acquire CyberSack Servoy Plug-ins and Beans from CyberSack. This suite of components, containing 12 Java components for Servoy, creates new value for every Servoy developer where it concerns the manipulation of large datasets and user interface related experience. Following the acquisition the components will be integrated with the current suite of IT2BE components during the next couple of months but will be available through the IT2BE website immediately.
IT2BE
"We are thrilled with this acquisition. It was only 1 month ago, at Servoy World, that we publicly stated that we wanted to grow to at least 20 available Servoy components within one year. We could not imagine at that time that it would take us little over a month to grow even beyond that number"
"The acquisition bundles the two largest suites of components for Servoy into one. It is now possible to improve both functionality and user experience for many of the available Plug-ins."
"Because of this we can work further and live up to the expectation of delivering first class Servoy components. With no exception all Cybersack components are complementary to the IT2BE components. The nice thing about this acquisition is that we can concentrate more on improvement and enhancement."
CyberSack
"It is great to see that our Servoy Plug-ins and Beans are going to be part of the IT2BE suite of Servoy components. IT2BE is a very professional company, working full time on the development of Servoy related components and applications."
"It is nice to know that our Plug-ins and Beans will now get the attention they deserve more than ever."
"We are confident that this acquisition is going to be of benefit for our current clients and equally for all current and future clients of IT2BE. We know they have some exciting plans for the future"
"We would like to thank all users of our Servoy Beans and Plug-ins for their support to date. We are sure they will find a very stable and reliable partner in IT2BE. In fact that very same future was the reason we entered into this agreement with IT2BE."

We are proud to announce the new LDAPclient Plug-in!
The LDAPclient Plug-in is especially interesting for those companies that already have an LDAP server in use and don't want the hassle of a second (or more) user system in place with all risks applied.
Since Servoy 3.0 the default Servoy Security/Login can be overriden with a (developer) proprietary login and security system.
The Plug-in is tested against Open LDAP, MS Active Directory and Kerio MailServer.
Combined with the LDAPclient Plug-in, Servoy can now also form a 'perfect-user-fit' solution. For more information you can go to the
Plug-in pages. You can download the Plug-in
here, or use the Update Manager.

OK, so we are back in the 'real' world. One of the first tasks we are finishing is a major update of the Office Plug-in. Very soon we will release version 2.0!
Watch the forum for additional information!
September 2006
It was great fun to be a sponsor of Servoy World. We are sure everybody liked our breakfast!
It was even greater fun to be awarded with two prizes.
- The 'Community Spirit' Award for contributing to the forum.
- The 'First Annual RAD Race Winner' Award for creating the best solution with Servoy 3.0 in a 3 hrs timeframe. We archieved the task together with Direct ICT.

After 2 months of re-designing, re-developing and alpha- and beta-testing we are proud that we can announce the immediate availablility of the Calendar Bean. The Calendar Bean is the successor of the Scheduler bean (see below). You can read more about this release
here.
July 25, 2006
Maybe you noticed it, maybe not, but we introduced a new logo and house style. We hope you like it.
May 25, 2006
IT2BE announced today that the company has acquired SchedulerBean, a MIG Calendar bean wrapper for Servoy developed by Fredric Doddridge (servoybeans).
The Scheduler Bean gives Servoy developers the opportunity to create professional looking and easy to use agenda applications based on the MIG Calendar bean (
www.migcalendar.com).
We acquired the Scheduler bean because we see this bean as an important addition to the default Servoy toolkit. The bean also is a perfect fit to our current collection of Plug-ins in general and the Office Plug-in in particular. In the future we will make a bridge between the two.
Fredric Doddridge: "I am happy that IT2BE will further support and develop the SchedulerBean. It is our strong believe that the bean is now in very good hands."
Michael Phelps, President adBlocks: "Our currently shipping application named adSails uses the Scheduler Bean to integrate the power of the MIG Calendar. It has cut development time significantly and allowed us to provide a powerful and modern look and feel for scheduling. We are excited to hear that IT2BE will be supporting the bean in the future and look forward to working with them on enhancements."
Jan Aleman, CEO Servoy: "We are glad to see that IT2BE keeps adding Plug-ins and Beans to their offerings, thanks to companies like IT2BE our customers can add even more functionality to their applications with very little effort."
IT2BE is the only company to date that develops Plug-ins full time. Therefore we feel a certain responsibility to Servoy developers and customers to guarantee support and further development of any Plug-in and Bean available. It is our goal to remain the first and largest Servoy component developer in this market space.
April 24, 2006
IT2BE is proud to announce that it has been offered a partnership in the Servoy Alliance Network. The partnership, only offered by invitation, is a new milestone underlining our dedication to Servoy development, support, training and Plug-in development.
Servoy is a state of the art RAD (rapid application development) and deployment tool used to create cross platform and multi database solutions. Servoy is based on Java and other (open) standard technology.
IT2BE covers two important areas in supporting other Servoy developers. The first of the two is the dedicated development of Plug-ins that add new tools to Servoy. The second is support- and training both remote and/or on-site.
March 28, 2006
Today we released our almost completely rewritten Word Plug-in v2.0.
In this version replacing a bookmark was seperated from the insertion of text (still available though). As a result it is now possible to insert text, files macro's and even bold, underline and italic styles.
We think that with this version it is even easier and faster to create a MS Word document from Servoy. The new version makes it possible, with the use of macro's, to add whatever functionality you want and/or need.
You can download the Plug-in
here.

Today is the day that the Barcode Plug-in has become available. In fact the generation of barcodes was already possible with our Tools Plug-in. However, we think that the fuctions to generate a barcode in memory deserve their own Plug-in. With the need to make our Plug-ins 'Servoy 3.0 ready' we decided to take the barcode generation out of the Tools Plug-in.
We also improved/added sample code to the Barcode Plug-in.
With the release of the new Barcode Plug-in we also introduce version 2.9 of the Tools Plug-in today.
February 27, 2006
Today we released version 2.8 of the Tools Plug-in is released. This release has a new property and a new function to work with the (default) printer(s) on the client computer.
Main reason to add these functions was to be able to retrieve a list of all available (named) printers on the client computer and to set the default printer on a OS X computer.
January 9, 2006
Today the first beta of the new Word Plug-in is finally available. Cross platform creation of a Word document based on a template and bookmark replacement are now as easy as you were already used to as a developer of Servoy solutions.
A sample solution is included. For more details see the
Microsoft Word Plug-in section.
November 16, 2005
Starting today all our Plug-ins can be updated with our built in update manager.

In Servoy developer you will find the update manager under the Tools/Plugins menu.
The update manager will check the versions on our update site against the current version of the Plug-ins on your developer machine.
When it finds differences it will tell/advice you to update for the installed Plug-ins.
Plug-ins not yet released show up in the update manager but can not be downloaded yet. These Plug-ins will always have a version number smaller than 1.0.
Version information is always available in the window. We will also distribute only one installer file from today holding all our released Plug-ins, commercial and non-commercial. The only thing you need for a commercial Plug-in is the trial- or license key to get you going.
