Custom Development

When you need functionality that is not available in Servoy (both Client and Developer) we are happy to quote you for the development of a Bean or (Eclipse) Plug-in.

Components for Servoy 4

In the category 'Servoy 4.0' of our Support Site you can find the topics 'Installing IT2BE Components' with Instructions for how to install our Components for Servoy 4.
The topic 'Requesting and Activating (Trial) Licenses' helps you to apply for a license.

Home Beans for Servoy MediaManager Beans
MediaManager Beans
The MediaManager Beans enable selection, import and export of files to database records and/or the server filesystem though drag 'n drop.

The MediaManager Beans are in fact a combination of two Beans and a Plug-in.

With the MediaManager Beans and Plug-in you can:
  • playback movie and mp3 data using OS-native applications or JMF (Java Media Framework)
  • open resources from URLs, files and the database records
  • update the current record with media data via a Drag 'n Drop Bean
  • stream files to the server filesystem via a Drag 'n Drop Bean

Importing files to a record
The first MediaManager Bean adds record updates.

Once you drop a file onto this MediaManager Bean, you will be automatically prompted to asign a mime-type.
Mime-types are accessible through a sample solution. We have created a basic set of mime-types for you.
After setting the mime-type the data can be imported, played back , or both.

Importing files to the server file system
The second Bean adds file system streaming.

When you drop one or more files to this MediaManager Bean they can be uploaded to the server filesystem (in a 'store' location specified in the Servoy Admin Pages).
Additional to the streaming to the filesystem it is possible to have the Bean to store data and references in the current record.

The MediaManager Beans rely on the DataStream Plug-in for data transfers between the client and the server.

Because of the mentioned dependencies you need to own or buy a license for the DataStream Plug-in additionally to the MediaManager Beans.
If you already own a license for the DataStream Plug-in you can purchase an 'upgrade' to the MediaManager Beans.
